Israeli Shmita Project - First Steps

•   Focus groups comprised of key leaders, educators, and thinkers  to examine the core values of Shmita and to explore ways to make them accessible to the general public

•   Strategic planning with government ministries, environmental organizations, social-economic justice organizations, educational institutions, and international networks

•   Widespread media coverage around the Torah portion Behar, calling for the public to begin to think about a more meaningful, values-based Shmita in Israel

•   Initial work groups and partnerships in the field of social welfare to design programs for debt forgiveness and financial rehabilitation for needy families
